Description	:	I'm told John and his wife Anna were from Yugoslavia which is now Serbia and Montenegro. Grandpa's last residence before he came here was Veliki Koran which is near Sarajevo in Bosnia Herzegovina. He left from Antwerp, Belgium on the Westernland (name of ship). The manifest says it was March 1900. Grandma left from LeHarve, France on the ship LaGascogne in October 1902. He was a very good gardener and tended his garden until shortly before his death. John and Anna's last social engagement was to attend their grandson's wedding. Three days later John had a stroke... John and Anna's last social engagement was to attend their grandson's wedding. Three days later John had a stroke and 1 month later he passed away. His wife was able to attend John's wake the night before his funeral. On the day of his funeral, Anna did not feel well enough to go. She said, "in two, three hours, I be in the ground with Grandpa". She died while the family was at the cemetery. They did not speak English in their home but could speak it some. Deafness was the limiting factor in communicating with Grandpa. They were proud, strong people that raised their seven children into wonderful adults with handsome families. It was an honor to know them.
