Mrs. William Schorn, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Schorn farm home about four and a half miles southeast of Atkinson. She had been a resident of Holt county for nearly thirty years. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o’clock p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church in Atkinson, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. J. Schleef. Interment was made at Scribner Monday, Feb. 6. Mrs. Schorn was the mother of John Schorn, at whose home she died. Obituary Anna Sophia Hasemann was born Nov. 7, 1847, in Schaumburg, Lippe, Germany and died Feb. 2, 1933, at Atkinson, Neb., aged 85 years, 2 months, and 26 days. In her infancy she was baptized, and at the age of 14 years, confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In the spring of 1869 she emigrated to America, making her first home in Chicago, Ill. There she married John Henry Kruger, Dec. 24, 1869. The young couple immediately moved to Fontenelle, Neb., and in the spring of 1871 to Hooper, Neb. Their union was blessed with six sons and one daughter. Two of the boys died in infancy and one at the age of 36 years. Mr. Kruger died Nov. 1, 1884. In November, 1885, she was united in marriage to William Schorn and in 1904 they moved to Stuart. They moved to a farm near Atkinson in 1911, and there Mr. Schorn died on March 7, 1930. This union was blessed with two children, one boy and one girl. The children who mourn her death are William Kruger, Battle Creek; Anna Kull, Scribner; August Kruger, Scribner; Henry Kruger, Stuart; Elizabeth Ramold, Stuart; and John Schorn, Atkinson. One brother, 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive her. '''''''''' Fremont Evening Tribune (Fremont, Nebr.), February 7, 1933, p. 3, col. 6 MRS. WILL SCHORN FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT SCRIBNER SCRIBNER, Feb. 7 – Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church for Mrs. William Schorn of Atkinson, who died Thursday. Short services were held from the home of a son, August Krueger, near Scribner at 1 o’clock with services at the church conducted by Rev. H. O. Rhode. Burial was made in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Fred Kull, Jr., Leroy Kull, Elmer Krueger, Grant Wulf, William Kull, and Jerome Krueger, all grandsons of the deceased. The church choir sang several selections. The following children survive: Mrs. Fred Kull, Scribner; August Krueger, Scribner; Henry Krueger, Stuart; William Krueger, Tilden; John Schorn and Mrs. Peter Ramold, of Stuart. One brother, William Haseman of Scribner, 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
