Anna Sorensen was born at Eustis, Nebr. on August 6, 1892 and died at Omaha, Nebr. on Tuesday, January 6, 1925. From Eustis she came to Fremont, Nebr., with her parents, and since the year of 1900, she had made her home in this vicinity. On November 16, 1909, she was united in marriage to Emil Hansen at Creighton and to this union six children were born, one dying at the age of two years. Mrs. Hansen was of lovely character and made hosts of lifelong friends, who deeply regret her demise. She was a truly Christian woman and her life work centered around her home and family. Besides her husband and five children, the surviving relatives are her father, M.J. Sorensen of North Bend, Nebr.; six brothers, Julius Sorensen, Winnetoon, Nebraska, Chris Sorensen, Winslow, Arks.; Herman Sorensen, Waverly, Nebr.; Angus Sorensen, Fremont, Nebr. and Emmel Sorensen, Omaha and four sisters, Mrs. Chris Peterson, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Fred Mahaffey, North Bend, Nebr.; Mrs. John Nelson, Rogers, Nebr.; Mrs. Wm Howe, North Bend, Nebr. and numerous other relatives. The remains were brought here Wednesday evening from Omaha and the funeral will be held this morning (Thursday) from the Methodist church at 11 o'clock in charge of Rev. Littrell and the body will be laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery. To the husband and family, The News joins with the entire community in extending heartfelt sympathy. Extracted from: The Creighton News 14 Jan 1925 ******* Hansen-Sorensen Mr. Emil Hansen and Miss Anna Sorensen were married Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sorensen, west of town, Judge von Rahden performing the ceremony in the presence of a number of friends and relatives. After the ceremony a reception was held and a wedding feast served, after which all enjoyed a social dance until long into the night. These young people are well known and highly respected. The groom held a position with Ryan & Schneider for several months and enjoyed the confidence of all. At present he is the local agent for the Alamito Sanitary Dairy Co. His bride is a young lady of high standing in the community. Their many friends extend congratulations.
