Anna was born February 15, 1915 at Kensal, North Dakota, the daughter of Soren "Sam" and Karen (Hansen) Sorensen. In 1918 the family settled on a farm in the Volmer community of northeastern Montana. Anna was born February 15, 1915 at Kensal, North Dakota, the daughter of Soren "Sam" and Karen (Hansen) Sorensen. In 1918 the family settled on a farm in the Volmer community of northeastern Montana. Anna attended the H.C. Andersen school two miles from their farm, and completed a year at Medicine Lake High School. She moved to Solvang, California, where she stayed with her sister, Marie for a while. She worked for "rich people" in Santa Barbara; and while there, she met Bernhard Henricksen. They were married in Yuma, Arizona October 28, 1940 and lived in Santa Maria, California until moving back to Montana in October, 1945. They farmed in the Volmer community until Mr. Henricksen's death April 23, 1958. Anna lived in Grenora, ND for a winter and in Kalispell, Montana for a time until in 1960 she moved back to Solvang. Anna worked in a café there until Karen graduated from high school, then moved back to Santa Barbara. In 1975 she married Frode Jensen: they made their home in Plentywood until his death October 3, 2002. Anna always had busy hands, a vibrant mind, a radiant smile and in spite of adversity, maintained a cheerful outlook on life. A Four-H leader and Sunday School teacher for many years, she was active in a Volmer community women's club, and served as it's president for a long time. With Frode, she was a member of Plentywood Lutheran Church; although in many ways, "home" was always in Volmer. She loved oil painting, and cross-stitch and other handicrafts, and although she kept her favorite pieces framed on her wall, she just gave the rest away! She crocheted afghans for all her children and grandchildren. Anna said that the happiest times in her life were when she was living on a dairy in Santa Maria; and felt she was privileged to have had two wonderful husbands and enjoyed waiting on Frode, hand and foot! Anna is survived by two children: Richard (Red)Henricksen and his wife, Janice, of Billings; and Karen Budd of Plentywood. She has eight grandchildren: Ric, Russell, and Geri Lyn Henricksen, Lorilee Diaz, and Eric and Kenny Budd, Debbie Garcia and Jenn Gapay and by 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by Frode's daughter, Sheila, and her husband, Jim Herman, of Paso Robles, California; and by two sisters: Julia Parker, of Linden, Michigan, and Sylvia Ottenbreit, of Spokane, Washington, and by a special family friend, Clarice Carlson. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands,and by two brothers and a sister: Jeppe and Peter Sorensen, and Marie Jensen.
