Frode was born on May 12, 1912 near Dagmar, Montana, in the sod homestead home of his parents, Christen and Ida (Landberg) Jensen, who were both from Denmark. Frode was baptized fourteen days later and was later confirmed at Nathanael Lutheran Church. He attended school for 8 years at the Hawthorne rural school in the Dagmar community. Frode was born on May 12, 1912 near Dagmar, Montana, in the sod homestead home of his parents, Christen and Ida (Landberg) Jensen, who were both from Denmark. Frode was baptized fourteen days later and was later confirmed at Nathanael Lutheran Church. He attended school for 8 years at the Hawthorne rural school in the Dagmar community. Then as he said, he attended the "school of necessity and experience." On December 31, 1938 Frode married Helen Katherine Miller at the Nathanael Lutheran Parsonage. Frode worked at a number of occupations; He farmed for Peter Miller, was a bin inspector for Sheridan County ASCS, worked for Plentywood Motor Sales as a mechanic, was a part of a bridge crew for the Great Northern Railroad, drove the bus for Neville Transit from 1965- 1975; but his main love was farming and from 1935- 1982, that is what he spent a great deal of his time doing. He also traveled extensively anad visited such places as Europe, the Holy Land, Africa, China, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico and made it to every state in the United States but Rhode Island. He also actively participated in the Lutheran Church, Lutheran Brotherhood, taught Sunday School for seven years and was Superintendent for seven more, was a Charter member of Plentywood Camera Club and Plentywood Toastmasters, was a member of Montana Grain Growers and the Montana and US Durum Growers Association, N. E. Montana Land and Mineral Owners Association and the Sheridan County and Montana Farmers Union. In May of 1975 Helen died and later that same year Frode married Anna Sorensen Henricksen in Plentywood and they continued to make their home there. Their travels together included Denmark and Germany, Hawaii, and Alaska. He enjoyed being close to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren - they always brought out his smile that would light up the room. One thing that Frode wanted stressed at the time of his funeral was his profound 'thanks to all who helped make life in Sheridan County a great experience." This was his home and he loved it. He also wished that any memorials given should go to the folllowing organizations: Kogudus, Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, Plentywood Sunday School or Brush Lake Scholarship Fund. Frode is survived by his wife Anna of Plentywood, a daughter Sheila Kathryn (Mrs. James) Herman of Helena, Montana; a step-son, Richard E. Henricksen of Billings, Montana, and a step-daughter Karen Budd of Plentywood. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Jenny and Debby Gapay; six step-grandchildren: Lorile Henricksen Diaz, Rick, Russell and Geri Lynn Henricksen and Eric and Kenneth Budd; by 12 great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Ragnhild Limpus of Saugus, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Helen, a son Aaron John Jensen, who died shortly after birth, and a brother Sigvald Jensen, who was killed in action during W. W. II; Sigvald's wife, Ragnhild Groskurth, of Plentywood, has remained close to Frode and his family since. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Agnes Andersen of Beaumont, Texas, and Dagney Bell of Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
