Her maiden name was Stower, born at Mansfield, Ohio, Oct. 18, 1824. She was married to John Gotchall March 20, 1848. She was the mother of 8 children, all still living. In 1864 the family moved from Ohio to Marshall county, Ill., and in 1883 moved to Lancaster county, Neb. Here Mr. Gotchall died Feb. 15, 1904. Mrs. Gotchall has been an invalid for the last 6 years and for the last 4 years has been bedfast. In June 1909 Mrs. Ramsey had her moved in a Pullman berth to Idaho, where her two daughters, Mrs. Ramsey and Mrs. Vantress, tenderly cared for her to the end. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, a most kind and helpful neighbor and so beloved by all who knew her. She bore her great affliction without a murmur and always had a glad hand and welcoming smile for all. For many years she was a faithful member of the Christian church. She loved to read her Bible and to talk about religion. A simple, tender service was conducted by W. J. Boone at the home of Mrs. Vantress in the presence of many kind, sympathetic friends and neighbors. The remains were forwarded to Cheney, Neb., where they will be laid at rest beside her life partner in Cheney cemetery. Mrs. Vantress accompanied the body to its destination.
