Anna Veronica was born on April 2, 1922 in Minden, Nebraska to Joseph M. and Lucy M. (Hoban) McQuillan. Ann's family moved to Greeley in 1926. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated in the class of 1939. She was united in marriage to Robert M. Dorsey, Jr. on August 28, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. The couple made their home in York until they moved to Grand Island in 1965. Ann worked for the Grand Island Utilities Department for over 25 years. Bob and Ann were active volunteers at St. Mary's Cathedral Parish and Grand Island Central Catholic High School. Following her husband's death in September of 2003 Ann moved to Omaha to be closer to her children. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons: Michael and his wife Beverly Dorsey of Parker, CO, Patrick and his wife Roberta Dorsey of Pilot Knob, MO, Bernard and his wife Lori Dorsey of Lincoln; 4 daughters: Sheila and her husband Tom O'Day of Omaha, Mary Ellen and her husband Steve Kreshover of Troy, MI, Bernadette and her husband Bill Bresnahan of Omaha and Annie and her husband Tom Messersmith of Omaha, a son-in-law David Eaton of Omaha; 21 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Margaret Eaton, a granddaughter Christina O'Day, a grandson Ian Dorsey, 4 brothers: John, James, Michael and the Reverend Bernard McQuillan and 2 sisters: Catherine Friend and Grace Dorsey. FUNERAL SERVICE 10am Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Richard Piontkowski and Father Vince Parsons officiating. VISITATION 4-7pm Sunday with a Rosary/Wake Service at 7 pm at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Burial 2pm at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Greeley, NE. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cathedral, the Grand Island Central Catholic Education Fund or St. Vincent de Paul.
