The totally unexpected nature of her death was a shock, to her family and friends. The deceased was a native of Bohemia where she was born on September 24th, 1852 and at the time of her death was two days beyond her 68th birthday. She was married in her native land forty two years ago to Joseph Formanek and to them there were born six children, all of whom are living, are Mrs. John Merha, Belle Plaine; Joseph Formanek, Irving; Mrs. Frank Novak, Irving; Charles Formanek, Belle Plaine; Mrs. Frank Kratoska, Cedar Rapids; and Anton Formanek of Ames. The husband preceded her in death some five years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Formanek came here from Bohemia and became highly respected residents of their adopted country. Mrs. Formanek was an ideal wife, mother and a good neighbor and her memory will linger long with the members of the family and the many friends. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home and was in charge of Mr. Joseph Hayek. The sons and son in laws acted as pall bearers. Burial was in Oak Hill beside the husband. The family have the sympathy of friends In their bereavement. Aged 68 years 2 months
