Description	:	Annabelle B. Brower, 86, formerly of Columbia City, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Bronson Commons, Mattawan, Michigan where she had been a resident since August 2012. She was born April 28, 1928 in Whitley County, IN a daughter of the late Evan and Goldie (Walter) Sheets. Her formative years were spent in Marathon, New York. She graduated from Marathon High School. She completed her formal education at Ithaca Junior College. On November 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Brower. The couple made their first home in Fort Wayne. In 1954 they moved to Columbia City. Mr. Brower died October 15, 1983. Her work career included the former Gripco, South Whitley and International Harvester, Fort Wayne where she worked in data entry. She is survived by a daughter, Rose (Kenneth) Klinkers, Kalamazoo, MI; a grandchild, Angela (Barry) LaBarr; three great grandchildren, Connor, Elliana, and Trevor LaBarr; two sisters, Mary Corner, Columbia City and Alice Eileen Stewart, South Whitley; three brothers, Eldon “Bud” Sheets, Columbia City, Raymond Sheets, Columbia City and Keith Norman Sheets, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Lawrence and Kenneth Sheets; a sister, Hallie May Sheets; an infant brother, Allen and infant sister, Ruby. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. The burial will be in the Thorn Cemetery, Ormas. Preferred memorials are to donor’s choice.
