Description	:	Anne was born the daughter of Mary Lee Fitzhugh and Dr. Charles Barret. The Secret Diary of Wm. Byrd II mentions Dr. Barret as living in 1709 in Williamsburg; so Anne may have been born there. Circa 1735 she married Colonel William Dabney and the couple produced eight children. They built the Hanover County estate of Aldingham about 1760 and lived there the remainder of their lives.
