Description	:	Anne Cecilia (Flanigan) Rohan, 60, of Hastings died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island after losing her battle with brain cancer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. The Rev. Matthew Koperski will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery at Spalding. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. T.J. Finn and Sons in Greeley and Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings are in charge of arrangements. Anne was born Feb. 14, 1954, the fourth of five children, to Tom and Marie (Pfeiffer) Flanigan of Greeley, and was raised on the family farm. Anne graduated from Greeley High School in 1972, afterward attending Central Community College-Hastings. Anne and Jim Rohan married in 1976 and had three children, Melanie Jean, Michael James and Rachael Marie. She attended St. Cecilia/St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings. At the onset of her illness, she was employed by Zion Lutheran Church and School as an office manager. Anne had several hobbies, enjoyed volunteering and wrote grants for many organizations. She enjoyed painting, poetry, reading and writing. Anne was very artistic, even decorating a car for the Route 6 Art Car Tour. She loved to cook, compiling several cookbooks. She was instrumental in the development of Kool-Aid Days, president of the South Central RC&D and, most recently, was a board member of the Greeley Irish Festival (Halfway to St. Pat’s). Anne won many accolades for her involvement in tourism and through her volunteer activities. She volunteered for Sertoma Club, Prairie Loft and the NE Sandhills Corridor. Anne was Executive Director for Families CARE, Adams County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Downtown Center Association throughout her career. Anne is survived by her son, Mike (Jessica) Rohan, and daughter, Rachael (Shanda) McLain, all of Hastings; her sisters, Ellen Diessner of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kathryn (Larry) Mendyk of Liberty, Mo.; brothers, Jack (Sue) Flanigan of Hastings and Dan (Faye) Flanigan of Norfolk; 10 nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Melanie; a niece, Christy Diessner; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Diessner. Contributor: Destiny Hogue (47090990)
