Burial was in the Nashua City Cemetery with Bell Mortuary making the arrangements. Burial was in the Nashua City Cemetery with Bell Mortuary making the arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were John French, Joe French, Mike Johnston, Chuck Johnston, Duane Dobbs, Ken Bondy, John Dalby and Howard Gilbert. She was born May 7, 1916 in Nashua, the daughter of Joseph and Suzanna Ihnat. She was raised on the Ihnat family homestead north of Nashua. She attended schools in Nashua and graduated from high school there. She moved to Fort Peck in 1934 during the dam construction period. She married Donald C. (Bing) Burns on August 15, 1936 at Nashua. They lived in Fort Peck from 1941 to 1967 where Bing was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. They moved to Glasgow in 1967. Anne began her postal career in 1952 and was with the Postal Service in Fort Peck for 30 years, retiring as Postmaster in 1982. She was treasurer of the Glasgow Senior Citizens and Vice-president of Retired Postmasters of Montana at the time of her death. She was a member of the St. Raphael's and Queen of Angels Churches, Church Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Retired Postmasters, Elk Auxiliary and Glasgow Senior Citizens. Her special love was her grandchildren. She was known as Gramma Leafoot because she loved to travel. She enjoyed playing bridge and duplicate bridge, bingo, bowling, reading, sewing and sports. Survivors include three sons, Dan and Don of Fort Peck and Tom of Mesa, AZ; one daughter Mrs. Michael (Maryann) O'Connor of Fort Benton, Montana; four sisters, Mary Johnston and Pauline French of Fort Peck, Virginia Gray of Kalispell, Helen Byfield of Washington; two brothers Mike Ihnat of Hamilton and John Ihnat of Glasgow; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Donald, who died May 30, 1980, and brothers Joe and George Ihnat.
