Description	:	Julia Massart Longsine was born November 1, 1945 at LaMuve Belgium. She came to this country with her parents when she was three years old settling at Green Bay, Wis. She was married to Joseph Longsine in 1863. To this union twelve children were born eight of whom are now living: Julius Longsine of Stamford, Alex Longsine, Louis Longsine Stamford; William Longsine, Kansas City; Levi Longsine, Martinez Calif; Edward Longsine, Orleans; Robert Longsine, Hollinger; and one daughter Lina Patterson of Bird City, Kans. Read More	Julia Massart Longsine was born November 1, 1945 at LaMuve Belgium. She came to this country with her parents when she was three years old settling at Green Bay, Wis. She was married to Joseph Longsine in 1863. To this union twelve children were born eight of whom are now living: Julius Longsine of Stamford, Alex Longsine, Louis Longsine Stamford; William Longsine, Kansas City; Levi Longsine, Martinez Calif; Edward Longsine, Orleans; Robert Longsine, Hollinger; and one daughter Lina Patterson of Bird City, Kans. Those preceding her in death were: George Longsine, Stamford; Albert Longsine, Galveston, Texas; and two daughters dying in Infancy. They moved to Adams county near the present site of Hastings, Nebr., in 1878. The same year they homesteaded in Harlan county south of Stamford. Mr. Longsine died on the homestead November 15 1905 at the age of 81 years leaving her a large family to care for. She devoted her life to the future of her family. Her perseverance and unwavering faith made it possible for her to care for this family through the many trials that she had to endure during the pioneer days. Mrs Longsine moved to Stamford in 1909 living with her eldest son Julius Longsine until she departed this life September 12 1931 at the age of 85 years 10 months and 11 days. Besides her children she leaves to mourn her death one brother Michael Massart of Casco, Wis., 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren other relatives and many friends. She professed the Catholic faith throughout life and was an active member of that church until a few years ago when poor health made it impossible for her to attend. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church at Stamford Monday morning conducted by Father Healey. Interment was in the Stamford cemetery.
