Anne passed away on February 5, 2008 at the hospital in Watertown, SD. She was the widow of Howard Hansen. Anne was born on August 10, 1915 at Bruce, SD to Harry and Katie (Ross) Freesemann. Anne lived on a farm with her parents and attended school in rural Hamlin County near Castlewood, SD. She graduated from Beauty School and then worked in Watertown as a beautician. Anne traveled to Tacoma, WA where she married Howard Hansen on February 1, 1942. After the war, they returned to South Dakota and made their home in Hayti. Anne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and the bookkeeper for Hansen Repair Shop. Over the years, she made many trips to Watertown to pick up parts that Howard needed for the shop. Later, she worked in both the Gambles Hardware store and the grocery store in Hayti. She was a member of Hayti Lutheran Church and served actively in the church for many years. Anne enjoyed visiting and loved to travel with Howard to visit family and friends and was especially happy to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, playing pinochle and crocheting. Anne loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and looked forward to the day when she would go "home' to Heaven. She is survived by one son, Larry Hansen, of Hayti, SD; one daughter, Diane, and her husband, Mark Hogan, of Fallon, NV; one brother, George, and his wife, Marie Freesemann, of Shawnee Mission, KS; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
