At the age of two, she came to the US with her parents. The ship on which they sailed was wrecked in a terrible storm, but passengers and crew managed to reach one of the Bahama Islands. Annie Turnbull Jackson was born at Stanhope, Durham Co., England, August 21, 1853. At the age of two, she came to the US with her parents. The ship on which they sailed was wrecked in a terrible storm, but passengers and crew managed to reach one of the Bahama Islands. Natives cared for them until the arrival of another ship. They reached New Orleans safely and the family took a riverboat on the Mississippi to Galena, Illinois. A few years later, they moved to Wisconsin, and later to La Cresecnt, Minnesota., where she grew to manhood. In April 1876, she was married to Charles E. Jackson, of La Crescent. A few years later they moved to Pembina, Dakota Territory, where they lived until moving to Chelan in April of 1902. This was their home for the remainder of their lives. One daughter was born to them here. Mr. Jackson died in February 1933. Mrs. Jackson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. E. L. Boyd of Lakeside; a granddaughter, Mrs. W. R. Brennan of Okanogan; two brothers, C. W. Turnbull of Albert Lea, Minn., and Walter Turnbull of Galesville, Wis.; a half brother, Golden Turnbull of La Crescent, Minn.; and a half sister, Mrs. Mable Wolfe of La Cross, Wis.
