Description	:	Annette Mohlman, 96, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Columbus Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, 12.5 miles North, rural Columbus. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Annette Marcella Mohlman was born September 12, 1919, in Platte County, Nebraska, to Richard and Frieda (Depe) Janssen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church (12.5 miles north) and received her education at St. John’s Lutheran School. Annette was employed in Columbus until her marriage to LaVern Mohlman on April 5, 1942, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They resided on a farm north of Columbus until 1973 when they retired and moved into Columbus. After LaVern’s death in 1982, Annette became a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus where she was active in the Women’s Guild. Annette loved her church and her family. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, flowers, playing cards, and making pillow case dolls. For over 20 years Annette cooked at the American Legion. She had a strong Christian faith and lived her faith by helping people in any way that she could. Annette is survived by: Son – Carroll (VonDell) Mohlman of Columbus, NE Grandson – Cory Mohlman of Wildwood, MO Great-Grandchildren – Colin, Maddi, and Cassie Granddaughter – Michele (Doug) Stucky of Lincoln, NE Great-Grandchildren – Wyatt and Morgan Daughter – Diane Gilbert of Columbus, NE Granddaughter – Shawn (Matt) Thayer of Council Bluffs, IA Great-Grandchildren – Brandon and Haleigh Granddaughter – Kimberly Gilbert of Chicago, IL Grandson – Shannon (Amanda Zywiec) Gilbert of Columbus, NE Great-Grandchildren – Tyler Gilbert and Baylee Zywiec Sister – Laverna Rickert of Columbus, NE Sister – Esther Dirks of Columbus, NE Sister – Shirley Wagner of Columbus, NE Brother – Ken (Betty) Janssen of Springdale, AR Many nieces and nephews Annette was preceded in death by: Parents – Richard and Freida Janssen Husband – LaVern Mohlman Son-in-law – Jim Gilbert Granddaughter – Mindi Mohlman Sister – Lucia Theilen Brothers – Elmer, Arnold, and Norbert Janssen
