Description	:	UNITY - Annie Beatrice ("Bea") Constable died peacefully on Monday evening, March 23, 2015, at Tall Pines in Belfast, where she had been a resident since August of 2013. She was born to Charles and Myrtle Tucker in Knox on Sept. 3, 1927, and was the youngest girl in a family of four daughters and seven sons. Read More	UNITY - Annie Beatrice ("Bea") Constable died peacefully on Monday evening, March 23, 2015, at Tall Pines in Belfast, where she had been a resident since August of 2013. She was born to Charles and Myrtle Tucker in Knox on Sept. 3, 1927, and was the youngest girl in a family of four daughters and seven sons. She loved to tell idyllic stories of her life "in the valley" among those siblings, to whom she remained close throughout her life. She married young and she and her husband, George "Butch" Constable, raised five children and worked the Sheltering Pines Poultry Farm in Unity. For many years, they owned a cottage on Lake Winnecook which became the hub of connections with their extended families.She was a member of the Church of Christ in Unity, where she attended worship for decades and enjoyed the company of many of the other couples who attended there. She was active in the Troy Grange and the Unity Legion Auxiliary, where she was proud to earn her 50-year membership. Bea was a genuinely sociable person, who truly loved meeting new people and learning their stories. She was a wonderful cook of classic New England meals and unrivaled candies and pastries. She used these gifts as a cook at Unity College and as a waitress at the Waterville K-Mart. A stunningly beautiful lady herself, she was a natural representative for the beauty products she sold, as well. She loved music and adored dancing, including ice-dancing and roller-dancing. She was particularly happy to be "Nana" and to see her family grow - from five children to 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was a breast cancer survivor, who took her cancer in stride. She was tough, and took pride in that. For a time, she was married to Warren Ashe, and remained his friend until his death. Fifteen years ago, Maurice "Moe" Penney, a childhood acquaintance of Bea's, began a courtship with his "Honey-Bea" which endured until her death. Also a resident of Tall Pines, Moe spent time with Bea every day. Before the decline of their health, they enjoyed time together in Maine and Florida. Before her stroke, she continued her nurturing tradition by taking two other residents under her wing to make sure they ate properly and kept connected socially. She accepted her condition with grace and often astonished her care providers with her wit and sarcasm. In addition to Maurice, Bea is survived by sister Mary Spiller, her brother Harold (and Carol) Tucker, and her brother-in-law, Ernest Mains; her children, Roland Constable, Rosemary Pillsbury, Constance Constable, and Catherine Constable; and many grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings Frances Miller, William "Bud" Keezer, Florence Mains, Frank Tucker, George Tucker, Robert Tucker, Perley Tucker, and John "Jackie" Farwell and their spouses; her former spouses, George Constable and Warren Ashe; her daughter, Linda Constable; and five grandchildren. A celebration of Bea's life and committal service will take place in Unity with details to follow at a later date. (Central Maine 3/31/2015)
