She was a member of Christ Church Guild in Amherst and a member of Lord Amherst Chapter of the IODE for more than 40 years. Active in handcraft circles in Cumberland County, she taught weaving classes at the School for the Deaf in Amherst. For many years, she and her husband Laurie operated Annie-Laurie Handcrafts from their home in Amherst. She eventually returned to Halifax where she joined St. Philip's Anglican Church. Surviving are children, Jean (Mrs. A.T. Williams), Amherst; Linda (Mrs. R.W. Fowler), Halifax; Peter, Scotsburn; sister, Alice Moore, Halifax; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Laurie; brothers, Reginald (Dartmouth), Harold (Detroit, Mich.), William (Kitchener, Ont.), Bruce in infancy.
