Description	:	Annie Horton Jones, passed peacefully at her home with family by her side on June 11, 2017. Born April 21, 1927, daughter of the late Albert Memory Horton and Emma Lee Whitener Horton; widow of the late Corbett Jones. One of eleven children, grew up in Rutherford County, NC, and moved to Winston-Salem in 1954. Always a loving mother, she put her children's needs before her own; was a woman of strong Christian faith and brought up her daughters to love the Lord; loved nature, enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, was a talented seamstress... Read More	Annie Horton Jones, passed peacefully at her home with family by her side on June 11, 2017. Born April 21, 1927, daughter of the late Albert Memory Horton and Emma Lee Whitener Horton; widow of the late Corbett Jones. One of eleven children, grew up in Rutherford County, NC, and moved to Winston-Salem in 1954. Always a loving mother, she put her children's needs before her own; was a woman of strong Christian faith and brought up her daughters to love the Lord; loved nature, enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, was a talented seamstress and took pleasure in making things for her family; enjoyed cooking, canning, and keeping the home. Employed by ElderCare as a private duty CNA and worked at the Blumenthal Jewish Home caring for long term patients. She had a gift for providing compasionate care for the elderly and was cherished by her patients. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy Simmons (Robert), Myra Neal (Tim), Alisa Royall (Tim) and Melody Southern (Landon); sister, Ruth Dysart of Greenville, NC; brother-in-law, Wilbert Hutchins of Morganton, NC; grandchildren: Brian Simmons, Laurie Bagbey, Russell Kepley, Lindsey Cox, Jackson and Evan Southern; great-grandchildren: Emma, Lilly, and Kate Simmons; Ryland and Hollis Bagbey; Mackinzie and Madison Cox; also numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much. The family thanked all of their Mama's caregivers. A special thank you to Felicia, Demetria, Erin, Mary and Kim. The family also acknowledged the special care and guidance provided by Kate B.
