The family first settled in Sutter county, and then went to Oregon for three years stay, returning to Colusa county in 1867, where they have since resided. All are living except two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Danley was born in Arkansas in 1852 and at the age of ten years came to California. The family first settled in Sutter county, and then went to Oregon for three years stay, returning to Colusa county in 1867, where they have since resided. Mrs. Danley's husband died about fourteen years ago. During his lifetime he farmed 2000 acres of land in the Fairview district which was leased from W. P. Harrington of Colusa. After his death, the family continued farming for some time then moved to Maxwell to reside. The living children of Mrs. Danley are George B. of College City, James W. of Maxwell, Henry of College City, Lee of Williams, Walter of Colusa, Mrs. Mary L. Mayfield of Idaho, Mrs. Jessie Stearns, Albert, Harry, and Forrest, while the four who are dead are Mrs. Lola Paxton, John Wesley, Elizabeth Ray, and Vernon Jewel. Two sons served during the world war. Vernon Jewel, who enlisted, lost his life in France after several months of fighting. The American Legion post of Maxwell is named for him. Another son, Harry, was a marine and was wounded in France. Mrs. Danley was 72 years old on April 1st. She is active and takes a great deal of interest in community affairs.
