Read More	JAMES DANLEY ANSWERS CALL After two years of intense suffering and sickness death relieved James Danley of his earthly troubles at his home near Lurline Wednesday evening, June 20. The subject of this sketch was born in Arkansas May 30, 1834, and was therefore 72 years and 20 days old at the time of his death. Mr. Danely was one of the pioneers of California, having come here in 1853, where he settled in Marysville where he was engaged in teaming and mining. He afterward settled on a farm on Grand Island, where he lived until 1871, at which time he moved to a farm near Lurline, which vicinity has ever since been his home. Here he reared a large family of boys and girls, all of whom but two, survive him. While working in the mines near Smartsville he received an injury to his right leg which for twenty years was a source of great annoyance and caused him much suffering. Dr. Belton often advised an operation on the injured member, but it was not until November, 1973 that he consented to submit and it was at that time that the amputation of the leg occured. About two years ago the left leg commenced to trouble him and ever since he has been an invalid with no hope of relief but death, which came at quarter past nine Wednesday as above stated. James Danley was married at Sycamore in 1868 to Miss Annie Mitchell, who with twelve of their children are left to mourn his loss. The children are George, James W., Henry, Lee, Albert, Walter, Harry, Forest, Bernard, Miss Jessie, Mrs. Mary Mayfield, and Mrs. Lola Paxton. Besides these, he leaves three brothers and two sisters living in Texas. The funeral will take place from the family residence, four miles west of Colusa Junction, near Lurline, on Friday, June 22d, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the Maxwell cemetery. Thus, one by one, the pioneers are fast passing away. The family have the sympathy of a host of friends in their great grief and loss of a loving husband and devoted father.
