She was born March 9, 1893 at Mono to Archie McCabe and Adeline (Banks) McCabe. She grew up at Laurel, Ontario and from the time of her marriage to her death lived on the E1/2 Lot 16, Con. 4 Melancthon. On August 11, 1914 she was married to James Francis Berry who predeceased her April 16, 1965. They had two daughters, Bertha (Mrs. Cecil Foster) Grand Valley, and Lena at home. Their family also included two grandchildren: Muriel (Mrs. Murray Burnett) Orangeville, and Kenneth Foster of Grand Valley and two great-grandchildren: Christopher and Dawn Burnett of Orangeville. She had one brother Maurice McCabe of Brandon, Manitoba and two brothers who predeceased her: Leonard and Lloyd McCabe. She was affiliated with the United Church in Laurel and Horning's Mills. She will be long remembered for her participation in local fall fairs with her show horses. The funeral was March 11, 1982 from Gambles Funeral Home in Shelburne with Rev. Joyce McCardell, interment in Shelburne Cemetery. Pall-Bearers were Murray Burnett, Harold Hamilton, Wilfred Newell, Jim Taggart, Douglas Downey and Eddie McCabe. Flower-bearers were Kenneth Foster, Mureil, Christopher and Dawn Burnett.
