He married Dorothy Jameson on Dec. 24, 1936, in Eldon. He farmed in Davis county and also worked for John Morrell & Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1971 due to illness. He was born Nov. 19, 1915, in Davis County to Eldridge T. and Lillie Lanman Fite. He married Dorothy Jameson on Dec. 24, 1936, in Eldon. He farmed in Davis county and also worked for John Morrell & Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1971 due to illness. He was a charter memeber of Eldon Lions Club International where he received the Outstanding Service Award for 1980-81, he was past board member of Davis County Farm Bureau, who awarded him the Roy S. Denny Award in 1991. He was a member and past deacon of Bethlehem Christian Church and also served as secretary of Bethlehem Cemetery Association for 40 years. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jane Porter of Blue Springs, Mo.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Fite of Floris. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and a son in infancy; and two brothers, Don and Beryl. The service will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Bethlehem Christian Church, the Revs. Richard Friend and David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Open visitation will begin at noon today with family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be Danny, Randy, and LaVerne Fite, Mark and Mitchell Laughlin, and Dick Hartwig. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike Porter, Kevin Fite, Joe, Jeremy and Justin Parrish, and Joshua Reynolds.
