Description	:	Ansel William Wayne ``Bill'' Lopeman died peacefully in his Chimacum home of age-related causes. He was 80. Born in Thayer Wilson, Kan., to Ott and Lula (Locke) Lopeman, he was the seventh of 10 children. He graduated from Chimacum High School in 1943. He married Thelma Elaine Whisnant in Port Townsend on Dec. 6, 1946. Mr. Lopeman worked in general construction for 40 years and retired in 1982, after an accident in his yard. Born in Thayer Wilson, Kan., to Ott and Lula (Locke) Lopeman, he was the seventh of 10 children. He graduated from Chimacum High School in 1943. He married Thelma Elaine Whisnant in Port Townsend on Dec. 6, 1946. Mr. Lopeman worked in general construction for 40 years and retired in 1982, after an accident in his yard. Mr. Lopeman was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and clam digging as well as watching both Seattle Mariners baseball and college sports. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Colette Lopeman, Randy and Linda Lopeman and Mark and Tammy Lopeman, all of Chimacum; brother Leon Lopeman and sister Pauline Lee, both of Chimacum; brother and sister-in-law Glenn and Penny Lopeman of Port Townsend; brother Carl Lopeman of Port Ludlow; sister Delila Newman of California; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife died Jan. 25, 2004. Services: Sunday, Aug. 13, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., celebration of life in the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend.
