Description	:	Longtime Jefferson County resident Thelma Elaine Lopeman died in Port Townsend at age 77. She was born is Cosmopolis to Edgar and Alice (Ulbrikson) Whisnat, and moved to Port Ludlow as a child. She graduated from Chimacum High School in 1944. She married Bill Lopeman On Dec. 6, 1946. Mrs. Lopeman was postmaster in Chimacum for many years before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed salmon fishing, and in 1966 was the first woman to win the Port Townsend Salmon Derby. Services: At her request, none. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor Saturday, Jan. 31, 2-5 p.m., in the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend.
