Description	:	Anson John Priest, son of John and Jennie Brown Priest, was born on Oct. 9, 1881, at Prairie du Chien, Wisc., and passed away Friday afternoon, June 26, 1964, at the Fayette County Hospital- Fayette, Iowa at the age of 82 years-- the last member of his family. On April 21, 1903, he was united in marriage to Katherine McGreevy at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa. To this union were born two daughters, Elizabeth and Susanna (Mrs. George V. Read More	Anson John Priest, son of John and Jennie Brown Priest, was born on Oct. 9, 1881, at Prairie du Chien, Wisc., and passed away Friday afternoon, June 26, 1964, at the Fayette County Hospital- Fayette, Iowa at the age of 82 years-- the last member of his family. On April 21, 1903, he was united in marriage to Katherine McGreevy at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa. To this union were born two daughters, Elizabeth and Susanna (Mrs. George V. Larson). Anson faithfully served the community as a dairyman for 25 years. He was also active in community affairs and served as chief of the Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was with Burgess-Dugstad Lumber Co. for several years prior to his retirement. Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Church, Clermont, Iowa, Monday, June 29, at 10:30 A.M. with a Requiem High Mass celebrated by his pastor Rev. Thomas Currier. Also present in the sanctuary were Rev. Thomas B. O'Toole and Rev. Joseph Sullivan. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Joseph Leehy, Burkhart Reigal, Richard Griebenow, Leo Griebenow, Emmet Carlin, and Lawrence Horan. Mr. Priest is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth of Corwith, Iowa, Susanna (Mrs. George V. Larson) of Clermont, his son-in-law, two grandchilderen, three great-grand-children, and several nieces and nephews.
