Schulte, age 28, son of Gerhard (Francis Gerardy) Schulte and Maria (Anna Maria) Vollenbroek, married Ida M. Goeldner, age 24, daughter of Fred Goeldner and Theresa Nauman, on Nov. 25, 1886. Keokuk Co., Iowa Marriage Index Thursday afternoon, Nov. 25th, at the brides parents home in Clear Creek Twp., Mr. Anthony Gerhard Schulte and Miss Ida M. Goeldner were married, Esq. W. J. Goeldner officiating. The groom is well known to most of our readers as a young attorney, who has by industry and faithful attendance to business, has won the respect and confidence of the community. The bride is the daughter of Frederick Goeldner, one of the substantial farmers of Clear Creek Twp. Mr. Schulte, having purchased the Silverwood property, the young couple begin housekeeping in a cozy home of their own and commence their life under the most favorable of circumstances. A. G. Schulte was born in Amsterdam, Holland. September 11, 1859. He, with his parents (and sister, Anna) came to America and located near Harper, Keokuk Co., Iowa in 1875. (His half brother, Gerhard Schulte had emigrated to America previously.) In 1882, seven years after coming to America, he taught school. In 1884 he began the study of law in the office of G. D. Wooden and in the next year he graduated from the law department of the Iowa State University. In 1888 he formed a partnership with W. D. Howard to conduct a general law and abstract business. The same year Mr. Schulte was elected County Attorney on the Republican ticket. Two years ago, Mr. Hugo Goeldner purchased a half interest in the law business. In 1886, Mr. Schulte was married to Ida Goeldner and from this union came 4 daughters, all of whom, along with their mother, and Mr. Schulte's mother (Anna Maria (Vollenbroek) Schulte), his half brother (Gerhard Schulte) and his sister (Anna (Schulte) Bakehouse) survive him. A. G. Schulte was a man far above the average in ability. He was a bright student, a kind husband and father and most accomodating to his friends and business associates. A short funeral service was held at the residence of W. B. Phelps, after which the remains were taken charge of by the K. P. Lodge and laid to rest with the beautiful ceremony of the lodge. Schulte and Ida Goeldner are: 1.Orelia Theresa Schulte, born Feb. 3, 1889 2.Leona Goeldner Schulte, born Aug. 20, 1892, married Roy Runge, buried Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa. 3.Clara Ellis Schulte, born Dec. 8, 1894, married Zink 4.Ida McKinley Schulte, born March 4, 1897, Sigourney, Iowa, died March 28, 1955 in Los Angeles, Ca., married Albert J. Stevenson, June 20, 1920, in Long Beach, Ca. Buried Rose Hill Cem., Whittier, Ca. Sister of Anthony Schulte, Anna (Schulte) Bakehouse, married Charles Bakehouse, they are buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney. Half-brother of Anthony Schulte, Gerhard Schulte, son of Francis Gerardy Schulte and 1st wife, Anna Mary Koch, married Elizabeth Jaeger. Gerhard and Elizabeth are buried at St. Elizabeth Cem., Harper, Iowa. Francis Gerardy Schulte married 1st Anna Mary Koch Francis Gerardy Schulte married 2nd, Maria Anna Vollenbroek Parents of Anthony Schulte, Francis Gerardy Schulte and Maria Anna Vollenbroek are buried at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Harper, Iowa Anthony, Ida and the Sonwalts are buried on the same lot, Silverwood 3rd addition, Block 51,Pleasant Grove Cem.
