Read More	Columbus (Nebraska) Daily Telegram July 1934 TARVOV-(By Staff Reporter)--Sorrow entered the home of Anton Jaworski last Thursday, when suddenly a bolt of lightning came from the skies and ended this earthly life for Mr. Jaworski. Mr. Jaworski had gone out into a field near his home during the evening to cut weeds. The storm came up and he was evidently on his way back to the house when the bolt struck, for his lifeless body was found only about a hundred yards from the barn on the place. He was carrying a scythe and it is believed that the blade of this drew the fatal bolt. When he did not return in the evening the members of the family thought nothing of it for he had often gone to town to visit one of his sons. However, when he failed to return in the morning the family became alarmed and one of the sons drove to Tarnov to find out whether or not he had been there and learning that he had not, search was instituted and his body was found in a little ravine in the pasture not far from the barn. His remains were taken to the Duesman Funeral home in Humphrey to be prepared for interment and lay in state at the family home until Monday. Mr. Jaworski was an upright man, a good citizen and in every way, and by his quiet unasssuming manner, his friendly interest in the welfare of others and his conscientious adherence to high ideals had won for himself a place in the hearts of his friends and neighbors. Anton Jaworskii was born on the 13th day of June, 1878, on the farm near Tarnov, and spent his entire life in that community. On the second day of October, 1901, he was united in marriage to Miss Catheryn Chochon and to this union nine children were born. Twin boys, Peter and Paul, died in infancy, and one son, Alvin, died at the age of seventh month. Those besides the widow left to mourn his passing are Alois, of Tarnov, Clothilda of Omaha, and Theodire, Dennis, Florian and Isabelle, at home. He is also survived by four brothers and four sisters, Rev. Stanislaus Jaworski, of Ashland, Wis., Andrew, Frank and Jos. Jaworski, of Tarnov, Sr. M. Clothilda, of Evanston, Ill., Sr. M. Cunigundis, of Omaha, Mrs. A. Kristman, of Manlo Park, Calif., and Mrs. Sophia Sliva, of Tarvov. (Omitted here are continued references to his admirable character for his family, community and church)...He was a member of the Society of the Name of Jesus, and was a director of the St. Michael's church at Tarnov. For a number of years he served as Justice of the Peace in Burrows township, and for eighteen years was assessor in that precinct. He was very active in affairs that pertained to the farm and was chairman of the corn-hog committee for Burrows township. When the village of Tarnov was incorporated he was very interested in affairs of that little village and served as its first village treasure... Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at the St. Michael's church in Tarnov with the brother of the deceased, Rev. Stanislaus Jaworski, officiating at the services. He was assisted by Rev. Josephat Kraus, acting pastor, and Rev. Leo Mainzer, of Platte Center, with Rev. Frs. Cassimir, of Columbus, and Benvenute and Gerald of Humphrey, in the sanctuary...
