Description	:	STOLL Anton Stoll, widower, and Miss Elizabeth Schmitt were married in Kesseldorf, Alsace, France, in 1828 - he was 36, she was 20 years old. Anton or Anthony Stoll was born in 1792, died December 25, 1858, at age of 66 years, on a farm near Cascade, Iowa. His tombstone almost in the east entrance of the Catholic Cemetery. He and his wife and two children of second wife and five of first wife came to America in 1853 and bought a farm near Cascade. The five children of his previous marriage were John, Anton Jr., Andreaus and Mary and Barbara Stoll. Children of the second marriage were Elizabeth, who died in France, Mary Anna, Kate, Louis, Mike, Gus and Barbara - total of 12 children. John Stoll's children are Mrs. Crowder and Mrs. Frauenreder of Cedar Rapids; Anton Stoll Jr. went to St. Louis. Andreaus has a son Victor in Worthington, Iowa. Victor married Delia White and their children are Celia (Mrs. John Klaren), Worthington, Iowa. Celestine Stoll lives in Victor's home. Alphonse Stoll of Hopkinton, Mrs. Bruger of Worthington, Mary Stoll who married John White and whose children are Victor of Cedar Rapids, Alfred and Rose White of Worthington, and Barbara Stoll who married John Fleckenstein. Of the seven last children, Elizabeth died in France, Mary Anna married Anton Mueller, Kate married John Stangl (heirs are in Cedar Rapids). She (Kate) owned part of what is today the Emporium on Main Street in Dyersville, with Louis Stoll, her brother. Louis Stoll was a druggist and moved to Smithland, Carroll County, Iowa, and his heirs are still there. Mike Stoll (druggist) moved to Oklahoma. Gus Stoll (clerk at Limbach Store) now Hentges Bldg., was the youngest Stoll and went to St. Louis, Mo. Barbara Stoll, 1840, married Fidelus Imholz, a shoemaker where Sinclair Service Station across from the Basilica - the house is moved back near the alley. He died in 1880, age 56, quick consumption. Barbara died June 24, 1910. Fidelus Imholz left her in poverty with the property and seven children -- Gus Imholtz, Ed, Tony, (whose monument is in the southeast quarter of Catholic Cemetery in Dyersville) Joe, Lizzie and Louis. Anton Stoll died in 1858, then his wife Elizabeth bought the home which is now the Chas. Steffen home in 1860, and the lot beside it, now the Jos. Tegeler home. She and the children moved to Dyersville (which was about ten years after they came to America, and her age at that time was 55 years). She also owned the business property, now the Schuster Tavern - building is east of the Emporium building. Her last years she spent at her youngest daughter's home, Barbara Stoll Imholtz. She was born November 19, 1808 in Shaffhausen, Alsace, France, died December 10, 1887 - age 79 years. Her monument and grave are in the southeast quarter of Catholic Cemetery at Dyersville (a cross) She was stern, critical, severe. Her hobby was making paper flowers. Contributor: (47833342)
