Mr. Dvorak and his sons had been to Chelsea during the day on business, and he returned on train No. 13, getting off at the station of Long Point, as he lives but a mile west of the station. He evidently had started to walk home down the tracks and took the south track to avoid meeting trains.... Mr. Dvorak and his sons had been to Chelsea during the day on business, and he returned on train No. 13, getting off at the station of Long Point, as he lives but a mile west of the station. He evidently had started to walk home down the tracks and took the south track to avoid meeting trains. The evening was rather blustery and dark and in taking the south track to avoid eastbound trains he neglected to look out for west bound trains moving on the track upon which he was walking. The accident occurred at a cattle guard and it is likely he was overtaken as he was crossing the guard and as it was icy and slippery, he was unable to get out of the way. The body was found by his sons, who came from Chelsea later on the way freight and not finding their father at home, became suspicious that something was wrong and went down the right of way to look for him. It was about nine o 'clock when his body was found, outside the rails, crushed and bruised, life extinct. Word was immediately sent to the family and friends and soon a number of persons were at the scene of the accident. The coroner was notified but deemed his presence unnecessary as the evidence was plain as to the cause of his death. Undertaker Schrock was notified and went down in the night and took charge of the remains. Funeral services were held at the residence and the remains taken to the Vining cemetery for burial. Mr. Dvorak leaves a family of a wife and eleven children, seven sons and four daughters. He was a brother of Mrs. John Bohacek of Tama and Frank Dvorak who also lives in Tama. He has three brother, Joe, Michael, and Vincent living in this country. His nephew James Dvorak, of Tama, was early at the scene of the accident and furnished the News with its information. Mr. Dvorak was well known in south Tama. For years he resided on the Struble and Stiger farm near Long Point and a couple years ago purchased the Meeker farm, where the family reside."
