Description	:	Anton Spilinek, Sr., of Elba, Nebraska, died on March 3rd, 1911, of pneumonia, which set in after his fall of last week in which he fractured his leg, and owing to his advanced age he was not able to withstand the strain. The funeral was held from the U. B. church in Elba Sunday at 11 o'clock a. m., Rev. Strohl officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery south of town, followed by a large concourse of friends and neighbors, there being about 40 teams in the procession. The deceased was born Nov. 10, 1836 and died at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 21 days. He was married to Mary Verzak in 1866 [or 1857 per Mary Vezak Spilinek’s obituary], to this union there was born one son and five daughters. Two of the daughters died in infancy. His wife died in July 1906. Those who survive him are, Anton Jr., of Elba, Mrs. John Tuma and Mrs. Philip Weiker of Cotesfield, and Mrs. Frank Halla of Dannevirke. Deceased came to America in 1874, locating in Omaha, where he and his family lived for three years. They then moved to a farm about 7 miles north west of Elba, where they lived 11 years, moving from there to Elba, where they have resided since.
