Description	:	Anton attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa. At approximately twenty years of age he went to California where he boarded a ship for the State of Washington. At Uniontown, Washington he worked for his brother John in a general store. While working there he homesteaded a quarter section of land near Genesee, Idaho. While working there he homesteaded a quarter section of land near Genesee, Idaho. In 1891 he returned to New Vienna, Iowa and married Mary Frances Abeln. John Hoefer was his best man. They returned to the homestead in Genesee, Idaho where they lived until the early part of 1892. At that time they sold the land and livestock for approximately two thousand dollars, and carried the money in gold with them by way of the Northern Pacific Railroad to Minneapolis, going by another railroad to New Vienna. In New Vienna they lived for a year in the hotel owned by his father. Here their first child, Raymond was born in March 1892. Anton tended bar in the hotel saloon until 1893 when they moved to a two hundred forty acre farm which he bought three miles north of Albion, Nebraska. The farm was located on the east side of Pleasant Valley. Florence and Frank where born in the house that Anton bought & built from a Sears catalog on the site that was situated on the farm at the time of purchase. In approximately 1904 a new two story square house was built from Sears catalog in which the other children were born - Marie, and Leo. In the early part of the 1900's they purchased another farm consisting of one hundred sixty acres about one fourth mile north and about one half mile west. The farm was situated on the west side of Pleasant Valley. In 1909 they purchased land near Sydney, Cheyenne County Nebraska.
