Description	:	Anton Nelson (36) was the fifth of eleven children born to Nils Nilsson and Elna Carlsson of Vollsjo, Sweden. He was born in Ortonville, MN April 23, 1894 and went to Sweden with his parents as a young child. He returned to the United States arriving in New York on June 10, 1914 aboard the Oceanic. The ship manifest indicates he was going to Ortonville Minnesota to a friend Emil Johnson and his wife, Alice Johnson who was his first cousin . He had $40.00 in his possession. The ship manifest indicates he was going to Ortonville Minnesota to a friend Emil Johnson and his wife, Alice Johnson who was his first cousin . He had $40.00 in his possession. By 1915 he was living in the Kenmare, North Dakota area. For a period of time he lived with his 1st cousin, Peter G.Nelson and Emma (Carlson) Nelson. In 1920 he was living on and farming the John Olsen farm near Niobe, North Dakota. Life became very difficult for Anton; his farming venture was unsuccessful and a failed love relationship caused Anton to go into severe depression. He entered the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota where he remained until his untimely death. Anton is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, North Dakota.
