Description	:	ANTON RAU FAMILY Anton William Rau, son of Michael and Mary (Lockman) Rau, was born January 20th, 1889, on the farm now the residence and property of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gross. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish of Westphalia, but attended school in Earling for one year, at age 6, in 1895. He boarded with an uncle and aunt, Frank and Anna Nauroth. Read More	ANTON RAU FAMILY Anton William Rau, son of Michael and Mary (Lockman) Rau, was born January 20th, 1889, on the farm now the residence and property of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gross. Tony became a member of the Earling community when he married Veronica Kloewer, daughter of John and Veronica (Guderjohn) Kloewer of Earling, on Janurary 20th, 1921 at St. Joseph's Church of Earling. They made their home on the farm just north of his father's farm. Their children are: Gerald (deceased at 3 months), his twin brother Harold, married to Dorothy Foxhoven, now living in rural Defiance. Parents of Steven, Joyce, Dennis, and Joan. Mildred, married to Roman Gaul, lives on a farm near Earling. Parents of Carla, Michael, Gerarda (deceased), Mark, Donald, Joseph, Ann, Mary, Gina, Karen and Michele. Joe, single, resides on the family farm. Theresa, married to Arthur Leinen, Rt. 4, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Parents of William, Thomas (deceased), Mrs. Dave (Ruth) Reed, Suszan, Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Benson, Mrs. Martin (Marian) Bosack, and Kristine. The Leinen's have five grandchildren. Goar, married to Jean McCrae, living at Rt. 3, Box 135T, Elgin, Oregon. Parents of Johnna, Ray, and Charles. Mary, married to Donald Carroll, 4664 Woolworth, Omaha, Neb. Parents of Ann, Edward, Patrice, James, Robert, and Kathleen. Howard, married to Dorothea Sorenson, living at 10840 Midland, St. Louis, Mo. Parents of Ron, Laura, Lisa, and Christopher. Veronica died October 5, 1971. Tony lived 91 years within the same section of land. May 1st, 1980, he became a resident of Little Flower Haven.
