Archibald Gibson was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, May 13, 1837, and departed this life at the home of his son in Trenton, Nebraska, July 30th, 1935, at the age of 98 years, 2 months, and 17 days. When 16 years of age he moved with his mother and brothers to the United States, settling near Sussex, Wisconsin. Here he was married to Margaret Black. To this union was born three sons and one daughter, all of whom are living. In December 1889, Mr. Gibson and family moved to Hitchcock County, Nebraska and settled on a farm southeast of Trenton, where he resided until 1910. He then moved to Trenton and here his wife passed away September 12, 1912. Trenton has been his home most of the time since withe the exception of a few years spent with his children in other places. While living in Wisconsin, Mr. Gibson became a member of the United Presbyterian church at Sussex and while his wife was living, attended the Congregational church in Trenton. He leaves to mourn his passing, three sons, L.O. Gobson of Cummings, North Dakota, J.H. Gibson of Morrill, Nebraska, and R.A. Gibson of Trenton, Nebraska, and one daughter, Mrs. Agnes L. Bundy of Trenton, Nebraska, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, besides numerous other relatives and friends.
