When about two years old she came with her parents (( James and Jane Lawson Black))to this country, locating in Wisconsin. Later the family moved to Canada and after some years residence there she returned to Wisconsin where she met and married Archibald Gibson, September 29, 1865. Read More	Born near Edinburg, Scotland & Married Archibald Gibson, September 29, 1865 Lisbon, Waukusha Co., Wisconsin Margaret Black was born in Scotland, near Edinburg, September 12, 1838. When about two years old she came with her parents (( James and Jane Lawson Black))to this country, locating in Wisconsin. Later the family moved to Canada and after some years residence there she returned to Wisconsin where she met and married Archibald Gibson, September 29, 1865. In 1889, Mr. and Mrs. Gibson with their family moved to Hitchcock county, Nebraska, locating southeast of Trenton. Two years ago they moved to Trenton. Mrs. Gibson united with the Methodist church when a girl; later she joined the United Presbyterian church and the family moved to Hitchcock county,the Presbyterian church, and when that church was disbanded she joined the Fairview Congregational church and when they came to Trenton, brought her membership here. Had she lived till the 12th of September , she would have been seventy four years old. Monday morning, September 9th, after a lingering illnes, she was called to that home for which she had all her life been praying. She is survived by her husband and all her children, three sons and one daughter, all of whom were present at the funeral, except for one son, whose home is in North Dakota and he was unable to reach her in time. Of her it might be truly said: "Blessed are they who die in the Lord from henceforth, yea sayeth the spirit they rest from their labors and their works do follow them." She had spent her life trying to make the world better because she had lived in it. Funeral services were conducted in the Congregational church at ten o'clock, Wednesday morning, by Rev. G.T. Noyce, of Crete, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Trenton cemetery. The heartfelt and sincere sympathy of this entire community goes out to the bereaved husband and children in this, their unrepairable loss.
