Description	:	Ardell Ray Dicus, 73, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at a local nursing home. Ardell was born Jan. 27, 1934, at Anthon, Iowa, the son of James and Julia (Claussen) Dicus. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Marines. Services werer 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Ardell was born Jan. 27, 1934, at Anthon, Iowa, the son of James and Julia (Claussen) Dicus. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Marines. He joined the U.S. Marines and served during the Korean Conflict. He married Bernice Kellogg. They were later divorced. Ardell married Gladys Dickey in 1979. He was a bus driver for Sioux City Transit for more than 17 years. Gladys died on Feb. 16, 2007. Ardell enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards and keno. Survivors include a daughter, Doris McLaughlin and her husband, David of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Terry Dicus Ballantyne and his wife, Mary of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Doreen Epstein and her husband, Marty of Marion, S.D.; two stepsons and their wives, Steve and Connie Dickey and Stuart and Pat Dickey, all of Sioux City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; a brother, Ben Dicus of Sioux City; and two sisters, Bonner Draper and Jeanette and her husband, Richard Martin, all of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Bryan Ballantyne; and six brothers, James Dicus Jr., Dean Dicus, Charles Dicus, Dale Dicus, Jerry (Dicus) Schmidt and George Dicus.
