Read More	Obit in The Anthon Herald, 18 October 1944, page 1: Julia Amanda Clausen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Clausen, was born April 2, 1903, near Anthon, Iowa. She was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church and in later years became a member of the Anthon Christian Church. She married James Dicus of Anthon on March 30, 1921. All her married life was spent in and around Anthon with the exception of the past one and one-half years when she was a resident in Sioux City. Mrs. Dicus passed away in a Sioux City hospital on Thursday, October 12, 1944, aged 41 years, 6 months and 10 days. Her sudden demise followed the birth of a son, George, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, James Dicus, two daughters, Bonner and Janette of Sioux City, seven sons, Bennie and James Jr., serving with the armed forces overseas, and Dean, Charles, Ardelle, Dale and Jerry Lee, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Clausen of Anthon, two brothers, Walter of Mapleton and William of Anthon, six sisters, Mrs. Fannie Hansen, Mrs. Bertha Peters, Mrs. Mabel Banta, and Mrs. Kathryn Zimmerman of Anthon, Mrs. Maggie Ahlwardt of Sioux City, and Mrs. Alvena Hammond of Ida Grove, three small grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Whitfield Methodist Church at Sioux City with Rev. Burns officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under direction of Anderson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were six cousins, George and John Clausen, and Henry Kuhlman of Sioux City, Julius Clausen of Danbury, William and Alvie Hansen of Correctionville.
