Description	:	Arden Talbert, 74, of Minden died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Bethany Home in Minden. Arden was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Minden to Wilmer and Myrtha (Jacobsen) Talbert. In 1961, he married Lois Nelson. Survivors are: sons, Matthew Talbert and his wife, Penny, of Minden, Nathan Talbert and Paul Talbert and his wife, Shauna, all of Kearney, and Mark Talbert and his wife, Sarah, of Wahoo; grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Tad, Mercedes, Andrew, Bryon, Keathan, Kalei, Emma, Morgan, Colton and Madison; and brother, Alden Talbert and his wife, Wilma, of Heartwell. Arden was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Minden to Wilmer and Myrtha (Jacobsen) Talbert. In 1961, he married Lois Nelson. Survivors are: sons, Matthew Talbert and his wife, Penny, of Minden, Nathan Talbert and Paul Talbert and his wife, Shauna, all of Kearney, and Mark Talbert and his wife, Sarah, of Wahoo; grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Tad, Mercedes, Andrew, Bryon, Keathan, Kalei, Emma, Morgan, Colton and Madison; and brother, Alden Talbert and his wife, Wilma, of Heartwell. Arden grew up in the Heartwell-Minden area. He attended school in Kenesaw and then in Minden. He graduated from Minden High School in 1954. He attended Sterling College for two years and then served in the U.S. Army. He served in Korea and was discharged in 1960. His family lived in the Minden area, and Arden owned and operated Talbert Land Leveling. He sold his business in 1988 and moved to California for two years before returning to Minden and working for the city of Minden in the street department. Arden then worked at Pioneer Village in the maintenance department. Arden was instrumental in organizing Pioneer Farming Days in Minden along with the rest of the Talbert family. Pioneer Farming Days ran for 26 years with the hard work of the Talbert family. Arden enjoyed collecting farm toys, restoring Case tractors, riding motorcycles in his early years and collecting cars. He sang in the church choir as well as in many community events over the years. Music was an important part of his life. Arden was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden and the Heartwell Lions Club. Published in the Kearney Hub on 2/2/2011
