Description	:	FRANKLIN — Ardyce P. (Bartels) Fritson, 82, of Franklin died Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Franklin Care and Rehabilitation Center. Celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Macon with the Revs. Baron and Nancy Cole officiating. Burial will be at Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery in Macon. Hutchins Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of the arrangements. She was born June 11, 1934, in Franklin County to Rudolph and Esther (Sinnen) Bartels. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Upland by the Rev. Otto Heintz. Ardyce attended several rural schools in Franklin County. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1952. After graduating, she earned her registered nursing degree from Methodist Nursing School in Omaha. She lived in Franklin County while serving as a nurse at Franklin County Memorial Hospital for 45 years as a registered nurse and later as the director of nursing. She married Mervin Fritson on Jan. 15, 1955, at Zion Lutheran Church in Upland. Five children were born to their marriage: Nancy, Diana, Randall, Steven and Ronald. Mervin preceded her in death on May 25, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Nancy; dad, Rudolph Bartels; and brother, Neil Bartels. While working as a full-time nurse, she helped on the farm and cared for her children. Ardyce served at Zion American Lutheran Church in various capacities while always making her faith, family and community a priority in her life. Upon her retirement she continued to serve the community by volunteering with specialty clinics, the Blood Mobile, Mobile Imaging Unit, Relay for Life, and the Franklin County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Near and dear to Ardyce were reading, attending her grandchildren’s activities, women’s weekly card club with her closest friends and maintaining her flower garden. She was a loving, kind, and gentle mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and God meant the world to her. She always made it a point to make them first. Until her passing, Ardyce cherished her mother Esther Bartels, who continues to reside in Franklin. Other survivors include her daughter, Diana and husband Rex Santero of Ogallala; three brothers, Randall and wife Krista Fritson of Kearney, Steven and wife Jill Fritson of Minden and Ronald and wife Kristi Fritson of Franklin; her grandchildren, Shannon and husband Casper Corfield of Oshkosh, Shalee and husband Jason Krajewski of Ogallala, Jessica and Drew Fritson of Kearney, Jennifer and husband Mark Favinger of Minot, N.D., Laura Fritson of Omaha, Justin Fritson of Upland and Kurtis and Kenton Fritson of Franklin; four great-grandchildren, Carver, Bailey, Kiera and Addison; her two brothers, Roger and wife Linda Bartels of Kearney and Dean Bartels of Denver; sister, Allison and husband Mark Morris of Hildreth; and a host of other relatives and friends.
