Adolph Lillich, pastor, officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery beside the grave of his wife. Husmann was born on Feb. 27, 1882 at Decatur, Ill., the son of Henry H. and Tine Bonk Husmann. His mother died when he was a child of eight. His father remarried a few years later. The family lived for a time in Burlington, Ia., where he learned the cabinet trade, having previously learned the carpenter trade from his father. As a young man he came to Nebraska, where he met and later was united in marriage to Hattie M. Scheer on Feb. 26, 1903 at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. To this union seven children were born, six of whom survive. A son, Edward, died at the age of four when the family lived at Rock Rapids, Ia. The family lived first in Winnetoon and Creighton, then on a homestead at Wall, S.D., and later at Rock Rapids. They lived in Creighton since 1931. After his wife's death on Nov. 12, 1954, he made his home with his children and having submitted to an operation to regain his health, he was cared for at the home of his daughter, Esther, in Minneapolis, Minn., where he passed away. Mr. and Mrs. Husmann celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953. He is survived by his children, Mrs. Volney (Ilda) Nyquist of St. Cloud, Minn., Arend Jr. of Monrovia, Calif., Mrs. George (Lucile) Fox of Bellevue, Mrs. George (Alma) Foster of Hopkins, Minn., Kenneth H. of Brookings, S.D. and Mrs. Dale (Esther) Lyddon of Minneapolis, Minn.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Henry and Carl of Rock Rapids, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Tina Beneke of Columbus.
