Read More	Arlene Peterson, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 8:20 p.m. July 21, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa. She was born October 25, 1930 in Ottumwa to Cleve and Lucille Krumphultz Carnahan. Arlene married Duane R. "Pete" Peterson on April 27, 1957 and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2006. A 1957 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Arlene worked for Bell Telephone Company for 17 years. She worked for the Sisters of Humility and Child Health Specialties and helped care for others in their home. Arlene was an over 50 year member of Plymouth Congregational Church where she served as church clerk and served on the board of trustees. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Trainmen. Arlene most importantly loved spending time with and taking care of her family. Surviving are her children, Kelly (Andy) O'Brien and Lisa Bishop both of Ottumwa, David (Christy) Peterson of Broken Arrow, OK; 9 grandchildren, Austin O'Brien (India Ross), Marcus O'Brien, Kelsie Peterson, Josh Peterson, Brett Peterson, Brian Peterson, Madison Bishop, Quentin Bishop and Elli Bishop; sisters-in-law, Pat Carnahan and Barbara Carnahan; brothers-in-law, Don Stevens and Jack McVey and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Jean and Joan Peterson; 4 brothers, William, Harold, James and Robert Carnahan; a sister, Lois McVey and son-in-law, Tony Bishop. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Bill Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
