Description	:	Arlene J. Loban was born June 28, 1909, in Matlock, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Harmina (Brass) Bluemeyer. She died on Tuesday, January 30, 1990, at the Estelline Care Center in Estelline, South Dakota. She was 80 years old. Arlene moved with her family to Brookings County in 1917 and settled in the Bushnell area. In 1923, the Blumeyer family moved to Bruce area, where Arlene finished her education.. She was 80 years old. Arlene moved with her family to Brookings County in 1917 and settled in the Bushnell area. In 1923, the Blumeyer family moved to Bruce area, where Arlene finished her education.. She was later employed as a clerk for Dalton's Market in Bruce. She was united in marriage to Joy M. Loban on September 16, 1931 in Tyndall,South Dakota. After their marrigae, they farmed in the Bruce area until their retirement in 1972. They then moved to Volga, South Dakota, until Arlene entered the Estelline Care Center. Joy died on October 26, 1985 in Volga. Arlene was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bruce and was active in the various church organizations. She is survived by two sons, Dennis of Bruce and Ronald of Brookings, seven grandchildren, Doug, Don, Darin, Kari, DeNay, Todd and Tami; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mark Mitchell, Ashley and April; four sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Otto Rust), Mildred Halvorson, and Floriene (Mrs. Howard Thompson), all of Bruce and Nellie Glatzel of Brookings. Arlene was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mamie and Hilda, and two brothers, Amos and Wilfred "Bud".
