Bridwell) Kilpatrick was born April 23, 1906, at Villisca and died January 1, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa. She attended school and graduated from Red Oak High School. Bridwell) Kilpatrick was born April 23, 1906, at Villisca and died January 1, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa. She attended school and graduated from Red Oak High School. She was married to Max Edward Gourley December 3, 1927, at Atlantic, Iowa Mrs. Gourley had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Villisca for many years and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed flowers and always had a beautiful garden and was an avid bridge player. They moved to Decorah where they owned and operated the Gourley Funeral Home for several years. She worked with Max at this time. She loved her home and took pride in refinishing furniture to keep it comfortable and attractive. In her younger years she sent much time traveling and made memorable trips to Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii, and had worked several years as a receptionist at a Drake University dormitory, a job she dearly loved. She was a very dedicated mother and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in1959. She is survived by her son Richard (wife Sharon) Gourley, Winnetka, Illinois.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren Memorials are to the Alzheimer Association. Arline was actually born in Grant, Montgomery Co. IA. Her birth parents are Frank James POGUE (1878-1949) and Flora Jane BRIDWELL (1889-1979) - who divorced not long after Arline’s birth. Flora then married Frank KILPATRICK in 1910.
