Description	:	Arlo D. Sohl, 75, of Beatrice died at Crestview Health Center in Milford Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2011. He was born May 3, 1935, at Hanover, Kan. and graduated from Odell High School in 1953. He worked at the grain elevator in Odell. On May 29, 1960, he married Betty Larkins. Sohl, 75, of Beatrice died at Crestview Health Center in Milford Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2011. He was born May 3, 1935, at Hanover, Kan. and graduated from Odell High School in 1953. He worked at the grain elevator in Odell. On May 29, 1960, he married Betty Larkins. He owned and operated a paint store in Seward for several years. They relocated to Beatrice in 1972, where he worked as a salesman and office manager at Store Kraft for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. He was also a member of the Bitting-Norman Post 27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. He enjoyed genealogy, gardening and spent lots of time with his grandson, Ryan. Survivors include one daughter, Shari Sohl of Beatrice; one son, Kevin Sohl of Kansas City, Mo; one grandson, Ryan Sohl of Beatrice; three brothers, Lawrence Sohl and wife Norma of Beatrice, Gary Sohl and wife Janet, and Kenneth Sohl and wife Pat, all of Wymore; three sisters, Shirley Wieden and husband Loren, and Patsy Roever and husband Richard, all of Odell and Janice Wittwer of Falls City; one sister-in-law, Lillie Henk and husband Allen of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie (Scheele) Sohl; his wife Betty, who died Aug. 4, 2009; one brother, Merlin Sohl; and one brother-in-law, David Wittwer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 7, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 10th and High, Beatrice, with Pastor Douglas D. Irmer and Pastor Timothy W. Wagner officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery of Diller. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Bitting-Norman Post 27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield, Beatrice, from noon Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday, and at the church one hour preceding the services Monday.
