Description	:	Betty L. Sohl, 72, of Beatrice, Nebraska, died unexpectedly at the Beatrice Community Hospital on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2009. She was born on September 30, 1936 at her parent's home at Shea, Nebraska, and graduated from Odell High School. She taught rural schools in Diller, Nebraska, after graduation from high school and then went on to Peru State College to get her graduate degree in Education. She was born on September 30, 1936 at her parent's home at Shea, Nebraska, and graduated from Odell High School. She taught rural schools in Diller, Nebraska, after graduation from high school and then went on to Peru State College to get her graduate degree in Education. She spent time in several fields of teaching including special education, library and classroom teaching for several elementary grades. She married Arlo Sohl on May 29, 1960. She came to Beatrice when they relocated in 1972 and taught in the Beatrice School System until her retirement in 1993. After 1993, she assisted her daughter with child care. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She was also a member of Retired Teachers Association, Odell Legion Auxiliary and Beatrice VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching volleyball and movies. Survivors include her husband, Arlo of Beatrice; one daughter, Shari Sohl of Beatrice; one son, Kevin Sohl of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson, Ryan Sohl of Beatrice; one sister, Lillie Henk and husband Allen of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence H. and Louise V. Snider Larkins; two brothers, Ray and Robert Larkins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Douglas Irmer and Pastor Timothy Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery of Diller. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 P.M. on Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 5:00 P.M. Wednesday until 9:00 P.M. Thursday and then at the church on Friday one hour preceding the church services.
