A Montana native, Arlyn was born Dec. 1, 1992, the eldest son of 11 children of Donovan and Gladys Hale McJunkin, in Vananda, MT. He graduated from Forsyth High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 to serve his country with honor. In 1946, after his Navy career, he moved to Billings to drive truck for Gamble-Skoamo Stores. He married Lorraine Parks, July 21, 1951 in Billings. Pursing his construction career, they made their home in Lewistown, MT., 17 years and raised their daughters. He was an active member of St. Leo's Church and Schools, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. A familiar with hard work as a member of a large farming family. Arlyn had a long and admirable career as a master diesel mechanic for Peter Kiewitt Sons and Wickens Bros. Construction. After 30 years they retired in Billings in 1989. As a family man, Arlyn will be lovingly remembered as a great father and devoted husband, who enjoyed time and activities with his family, camping, hiking and sporting events. Arlyn is survived by his wife, Lorraine, and daughter, Sandra McJunkin of Billings, and her daughter, Deanna (Heath) Shannon and great-granddaughter Payton Jo of Bozeman, MT.; a daughter Phyllis (Scott) Johnson and their children, Danica, Brandi, and Chris of Bozeman; siblings, Audrey Sweeney, Neil McJunkin, Collen Hormann, Donna VanVeckhoven, Keith McJunkin, Karen Fulford, Dennis McJunkin; and many nieces and nephews,. Arlyn's parents and siblings, Nada Watts, Velda Brummitt, and Kaye McJunkin preceded him in death.
