On September 5, 1900 as Minta A. Tilden, she married Elbert C. Macy at the home of her father, Frederick C. Tilden at Ames, Iowa. They were the parents of two children. July 1943 Mrs. E.C. Macy Dies in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania Mrs. E.C. Macy, 69, former resident of Ames died Monday evening, July 5 1943, in a Bryn Mawr hospital where she was taken two days ago. She had been ill several years of a heart ailment. The daughter of Frederick C. Tilden and Emma Tilden, she was born December 12, 1873, at Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa. She grew up in Story County and attended Ray School near Ames, Ames High School and was graduated from Iowa State College in 1897. Mrs. Macy taught at the Ray School for two years while attending college and after her graduation taught at Eldora for two years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. On September 5, 1900 she was married to E.C. Macy in Ames. Mr. Macy of Pennsylvania survives as do a daughter, Mrs. Clinton J. Adams; a brother, Julius F. Tilden; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Tilden Poole; and three grandchildren: John, Bruce and Marna Adams, all of Ames. A son, Ted Macy, preceded her in death in 1928. The funeral service and burial will be in Ames, but arrangements have not yet been completed.
