Description	:	Fred Sandmann, 75 years of age and for many years one of the prominent farmers of this county, died at his home southwest of Tipton 4 1/2 miles, Monday morning at 11:45 o'clock', death following an illness of one year from stomach and liver disorders. For some time he was in an Indianapolis hospital but failed to get any relief. During his illness Miss Nellie Burgett, registered nurse of Noblesville, has been with him. The body was brought to the Young funeral, home on West Jefferson street for preparation and friends may call there at any time after noon Tuesday. ... The body was brought to the Young funeral, home on West Jefferson street for preparation and friends may call there at any time after noon Tuesday. Funeral services are to be held at the Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. The death of this well known and well like man is a shock to all. He was a man who enjoyed a large acquaintance and his friends are legion. Fred Sandmann was born in Cincinnati, September 15, 1862, being one of several children of Fred and Louisa (Roth) Sandmann, but spent practically all of his life in this county. December 28, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Lillie Jackson, they started housekeeping on a farm southwest of Tipton, and have continued to reside in that community. He was a member of the Lutheran church of tipton and a man whose word was taken as a bond. No children were born to his marriage, but he was a great lover of youngsters and was loved by his many nieces an nephews and their children. Surviving besides the widow are two brothers, John and Henry Sandmann, both residing near Tipton. Also three sisters survive; Mrs. William Fischvogt, Mrs Dora Schulenborg, and Mrs. F. W Beck. Note that his name is spelled Sandman.
