Read More	Arnold was the son of Gottlieb Krieg and Johanna Thiermann. He married Alice Marie Kotas on November 28, 1928 in Carroll, Iowa. They were the parents of Russell, Dale, and Robert. June 1, 1937 - Carroll Daily Herald - Arnold G. Krieg, 37, passed away suddenly at his home, 1014 North Quint avenue, at 9 o'clock Monday night, his death being caused by embolism of the brain. Friday evening, while preparing to do some papering at his home, Mr. Krieg fell against the glass of the kitchen door and sustained a bad cut in his right wrist. The injury was followed by a stroke Saturday afternoon when he lost the use of his left arm. Monday evening he suffered the embolism that caused his death. His sudden passing came as a great shock to his family and many friends. The body will be taken from the Huffman Funeral home to the family home Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Huffman funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, with the Rev. Claude R. Cook, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in the Carroll cemetery and the Odd Feilow burial service will be given at the graveside. Mr. Krieg spent his life in Carroll, where he was born August 22, 1899, a son of Gottlieb and Johanna Krieg. He received his education in the Carroll public schools. After being an assistant signal maintainer for the Chicago and Northwestern railway company for the last 18 years, Mr. Krieg was recently promoted to the position of maintainer in the same branch of the service. He was an active member of Carroll Lodge No. 279, I.O.O.F. of Carroll. On November 28, 1928, he was married to Miss Alice M. Kotas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs A.J. Kotas of Carroll, who with three small sons, survives. The children are Russell, age 7, Dale, 5, and Robert, one. Mr. Krieg is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Johanna Ryan, and three sisters, Mrs. Will Fischer (Lillian) Mrs. W.L. Scott (Gladys), both of Iowa City and Mrs. Al Wolterman (Edna) of Wall Lake. His father and a brother, Carl, preceded him in death.
